Mechanical Testing

Tension/Compression Test Machine (Tensile Machine)

Standard round and dog bone test specimens. These bars were tested, note the reduced section.

Charpy V Notch Test Specimens.

Q.C. Metallurgical Laboratory has over 30 years of experience conducting mechanical tests. We routinely conduct tensile, yield elongation, reduction of area, charpy impact, Rockwell and Brinell hardness testing on a wide variety of ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Need a complete component proof loaded, QCML can manufacture test fixtures in our machining shop that will allow us to apply the tension or compression load in the direction you want. Our load platforms range from 200 120,000 lbs. This allows us the capabilities to test a wide range of products such as wires, plate material, castings, fabricated components and welded assemblies. Our charpy impact machine has a range of 300 ft.-lbs. in impact energy.

QCML has a history of meeting the needs of industrial and commercial manufactures. We work with foundries, forging houses, wire manufactures, machine shops, fabrication companies and heat treaters. Working with a number of different industries provides QCML with a wide range of experience that will help us meet your testing needs. All of our tests are conducted in accordance with ASTM, ASME, ISO and EN testing standards. QCML ensures the quality of our results by maintaining our A2LA accreditation to ISO 17025. All of our mechanical testing is included within our scope of A2LA accreditation. If you have any questions regarding testing or metallurgy in general, please contact us and we will see how we can help.
